“do’s & don’ts” for a safe heating season
Here are a few tips to help keep your family warm and safe this Winter
Be sure to keep walkways outside your home free from debris and shovel a clear path to your fuel intake.
Always keep yourself and objects three feet away from heat sources.
Never run a space heater designed for outside use, (such as a patio heater), inside your home.
Replace the batteries in carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors and check that they are in working order.
Never use a cooking stove to heat your home.
If you own a second home or vacation property have someone check on it periodically to prevent frozen pipes or other winter damage.
In frigid conditions be sure to limit your pet’s time outdoors.
